This occurs when the scan is started before the scanner is on the page or lifted from the page before ending the scan. What happens is that the light from the scanner is reflected back off the page creating a reverse or mirror image of the item being scanned.

•     Position the scanner at the top of the page and press and release the scan button.
•     Move the scanner down the page and press the scan button to end the scan. 

The on screen counter will increment up by one.
