This is probably because there's no microSD card inthe card slot or because the microSD card is full.

If the microSD card is full:

Insert a microSD card. Move the images from the microSD card to your computer to clear storage space on the card.

To format the card and delete its content:

1. Press the On/Off button for 2 seconds to power on the scanner.

2. Press the Menu button.

3. Go to the 2/3 option group and select the SD formatting option.

4. Select this option to delete the content o fthe microSD card.
