How to Scan

You can connect your scanner in two ways:

1. USB Cable (recommended)

This is the main and most reliable connection method.

2. Wi‑Fi (using VSL)

Useful mostly for scanning to mobile devices or when you want wireless scanning on your computer.

You have two main scanning options:

  1. In Readiris, click the arrow next to “From Scanner” and choose your scanner model.
  2. Choose how you want your scans grouped:
    • Append – All pages you scan will be combined into one document (great for multi‑page PDFs).
    • New – Each scan opens in a new tab and is processed separately.
  1. Choose the format you want in the Quick Convert section (Home tab).
Files are saved in: Documents → Readiris PDF
  2. For more detailed options, go to the Convert tab, choose a format, and adjust the settings in the right‑hand panel.

Button Manager lets you scan with just one press of the button on the scanner. You can send your scan directly to different:

  • Programs
  • Formats
  • Email
  • Cloud services
  • Folders

It’s very flexible and easy to use.
A short how‑to video is available to help you understand it quickly.

It creates image files only (no OCR text conversion).
Available formats:

  • JPEG
  • BMP
  • GIF
  • PDF
  • MPDF (multi‑page PDF)

To scan over Wi‑Fi:

  1. Unplug the USB cable from the scanner.
  2. Turn on the scanner and slide the Wi‑Fi switch (on the end of the scanner) to ON.
The blue light will blink until it connects.
  3. On your computer, open the Wi‑Fi menu and connect to the scanner.
The network name will be IRIScan + a 6‑digit number.
    Password: 12345678
  4. Click the VSL icon in the Windows notification area and choose Refresh.
  5. When your scanner appears, click Connect.
  6. This will automatically launch Button Manager, and you can scan normally.
